Cay just got off from a two hours travel and went straight home hoping she would bumped into someone she knows or better yet, hoping she would bumped into Stephen. She wanted to surprise him so she hasn't returned any of his phone call and emails for a week which will surely piss him off but he's into some nice treat so for Caylee it's worth waiting. The driver opened the door for her so she got off the limo and instead of going inside she decided to go for a walk. "Tell my dad I'll be home by dinner. Just need to go somewhere."
She started walking and glancing side by side looking for someone, looking for him, looking for Stephen. She looked at her phone the decided to give him a missed call. To give him more excitement about her sudden disappearance, a week of no communication and surprise comeback. She waited for him to get back.
Nothing's changed. Caylee thought. But one thing that made her think is Stephen's feelings. She had no idea if he still loved her as much as she love him no matter how far they are. She's worried that he might be dating someone already though he hasn't mentioned anything to her when they're speaking. But if ever he is with someone, he should've at least informed her 'cause she's definitely not in for any surprises that involves her and her feelings to him.

Stephen stared mindlessly at his flat screen, his mind wandering to the point of insanity. He hadn't been able to get the blue eyed, blonde haired bombshell that is Blair Wright out of his mind for nearly three days. They'd been friends since they were in diapers, but he'd never really considered her before. And she wasn't interested in him, so he should move on to his next conquest. But he couldn't. Without a worthy distraction, anyway. So he stood up, his body covered only by a pair of baggy basketball shorts and went outside barefoot. He started to jog easily down the neighborhood sidewalk, his muscles enjoying the feeling of being stretched.
He'd been neglecting working out lately due to the fact that he had no motivation for, well, anything. So he figured he'd better get himself back into the zone. He was almost positive he was losing muscle tone. His tanned abdominal gleamed in the afternoon Florida sunshine, and he smiled to himself. It was going to be a good day. After he made it about a block down his street, he glanced up out of habit at Caylee's house. She'd decided to disappear awhile back and had shut Stephen out completely and it was really starting to piss him off. Since when did Caylee blow him off? Normally it was his job to tell her for the millionth time that she was being obsessive and needed to lay off, and then he'd storm out. Then a few hours later he'd call and apologize for being an ass. Not exactly a healthy relationship.
To his surprise, his blue gaze rested on none other than Caylee herself, looking around as if she was looking for a lost puppy. If, of course, and he knew it, the lost puppy was a certain seventeen year old athlete named Stephen. He loved Caylee, he really did, but he wasn't sure if they could date. Again. He was one of those people who lived by the idea of 'been there, done that, ain't going back'. But he ignored that motto in Cay's case. "Caaaayyyyy!" he yelled out and headed her way before realizing he was barefoot. He'd probably get a lecture for that. "What's up?"

She was in deep thought. Mind's full of a lot of things. But most of them surely is Stephen. She's thinking how to gain his trust back. Caylee's been true and honest to Stephen. She's someone you can call a perfect girlfriend. For many reason, even if she's away, she never once paid attention to any guy, the first and only person she' calling besides her friends and family's Stephen. She's the good Queen Bee, innocent, untouched. Well it's different when it comes to her relationship with Stephen. She gave him everything.
And from her deep thinking she felt she heard a familiar voice. Caylee collected her thoughts thinking it was nothing but hallucination. Then not far from her, there he is. The man she loved and always will. He was obviously surprised looking by his reaction and the barefoot. He called her just like before, just like old times. "S-Stephen..." Instead of answering his question she run towards him and flung her arms around him, small tears started to flow in her eyes. She surely missed him a lot. Now that she's ready to stay, she'll make sure that she'll think of him first before anything else.

Stephen felt a wide grin stretch across his features, his eyes glowing with a familiar happiness he felt whenever he was around Caylee. She was a little crazy and obsessive sometimes, but he'd known her forever and she was the only girl (since his mom had long since past) who could look into his eyes and tell exactly what he was feeling. The only one who could ask him what was wrong and knew he was lying when he said he was fine. As much as he loved her, he didn't want to risk anything with her. He was perfectly happy with them as friends, but he knew she wouldn't be happy unless she was his. Stephen loved having girlfriends, but he didn't have a desire to be anyones boy toy at this point. He wanted to be single so he could do whatever he wanted with whomever he wanted. But on the downside, if he was like that, it'd still hurt Caylee. It felt to him that there was no way to win.
As she threw herself toward him, Stephen balanced himself, completely unaware of the fact that his shirtless, sweaty self probably reaked and that she was going to get his sweat on her clothes. She always complained about that. But today she didn't seem to care as Stephen pulled her close, his arms wrapped around her waist. He looked down at her and noticed she looked like she was about to start bawling. He hated it when girls cried. It got to him somewhere deep down and he could never stand it. He always ended up crying. Caylee was the only one who knew that, and she swore never to tell anyone, because if she did, it wouldn't be good for Stephen's reputation. His eyes clouded a bit as he searched her face for a sign of what might have been troubling her, but came up empty handed. He always found Caylee hard to read.
"Honey, don't cry," he said as he moved a hand to use a rough-skinned thumb to wipe a tear stream away from her eyes. He'd always used pet names with her. It just seemed natural for some odd reason. "You know what crying does to me. Now you've got a lot to tell me. So I'm kidnapping you for the afternoon." Another grin spread his lips as he scooped her up and started back toward his house. They'd watch a movie or something on his couch as she told him all about where she went and why she never answered his calls. And then he'd fix her a bowl of her favorite ice cream and everything would be okay again. Unless she found out about his recent infatuation with Blair. Then he was screwed.

This was the most perfect time for her since she got home. It wasn't something she's expecting but she was glad things turned out to be fine so far. Caylee was actually expecting a slap or yell from Stephen for being away without saying a word, surely that bothered him and she felt so miserable about it. She has never been away from him that long and that was so hard for her. She felt like going home and yet she needs to stay for some reason. His body covered with sweat is something she missed. Cay remembered the time where Stephen's teasing her hugging her after the gym and getting all his sweat in her new dress, that annoyed her but now, it was something she didn't mind at all.
She slightly pressed his biceps. He was obviously working out hard lately. "You can crush me with these muscles already." She joked him as Cay wiped of few more tears left. She laughed as he said something about kidnapping her. Cay loved it when he teased her like that. It's one way of Stephen to show how she cares and loves her. His idea of kidnapping is the best idea to get away for the problems that she has right now so she can tell it all to him, the only person she trusts on everything. "Kidnapping sounds nice. Just make sure you've got the usual vanilla ice cream and I promise I won't escape, no need to tie me up." She joked back. "Sweetie I know I've got a lot of explaining to do and I have all the time to do it." She let out a little scream when he carried her up but she have to admit she loved to stay in his arms forever.

As Stephen walked, he kept his pace slow. He let himself take in the afternoon sunshine and just relax. He hadn't allowed himself to do that in awhile. His dad had been putting extra stress on him already since it was his last year of high school, and he'd been stressing out like crazy. He was surprised his nearly perfect complexion hadn't broken out yet. But he had Proactiv on stand-by, so he figured it'd turn out alright. Surely the year had to get better as school went on, he was at the top of the school's complete food chain. Finally. He wasn't going to let the pressure of being perfect get to him. He was starting to not give a damn about what anyone else thought.
"Well, my dear, you've got a hell of a lot of explaining to do, because where ever you went, I'm sure you had cell phone signal." He looked down at her, an eyebrow raised quizzically, his eyes daring her to make something up to explain for her ignoring his phone calls. Stephen was pretty easy going, but when people ignored him, he tended to get slightly pissed off. Especially when the people doing the ignoring were people that were close to him. That made him crazy and he wished it was possible for Caylee to just get the hell over it and not be a bitch sometimes. It'd make his life so much simpler. Not that he'd ever tell her that, because he is a gentleman after all, but he was starting to get tired of waiting for the day when she quit playing games.

Now it's indeed showing how pissed he is to her. Cay clutched her arms around him like a little girl to at least lessen his anger on her. She wanted to calm him down so he pull him to his bedroom. "We can talk in your room right? or am I forbidden to go in there already? Did you pack up my clothes and dropped it in my room?" She ran into his room before he says anything. They need to be more private so she can go on with her story, what really happened and why she left. She sat there and wait until her arrives.
She looked at his room, at least he still have my picture displayed and few of our pictures together and the ones that I took candidly of him. The stuffs that she gave him is still there as well. The bone shaped pillow with 'i love you' engraved on it's still there, he still uses it so she felt relieved. She even ran through his closet not knowing if he's in the room already and it's just the same. Her clothes that she sometimes accidentally left when she stays there still remained untouched. Even her pink toothbrush is still in it's place beside his. Stephen hasn't removed any of her stuffs in his room. She felt happy about it and Cay felt hope on winning him back.
She went back to her seat at the foot of his bed and watch him come inside. She just realized completely that he has no shirt on. Now she felt nervous on telling him the truth and probably the secret of all secrets. Something that only Stephen can be trusted. Cay smiled at him signaling him to sit beside her. She used to do this whenever he's mad at her and the usual reason is for being late where she always run into errands everytime they're on a date. "Close the door sweetie. I don't want any interruptions. And my speech sure is long. I need your attention and I mean all of it." She took her phone out and turned it off. She doesn't want any distractions on her side too.

Stephen looked down again when he felt her fingers grab onto him. He rolled his eyes good-naturedly as she gripped, her way of calming him down clearly working. She always managed to calm him just by a certain touch, the way she always did when ever he got pissed and was at risk for murdering someone. He felt a feeling of longing in his gut, and he wished that things could be the way they used to be. Back to the way that he was when he let himself love her, but he couldn't. He couldn't just let the past be the past. Her grip was starting to make him soften, and he sighed as his body relaxed and then tensed again. He wasn't letting her off that easy. He was still pissed at her.
Once they got back to Stephen's, he didn't even have a chance to speak before she started freaking out, asking him if he'd gotten rid of her stuff. He never could have done that, no matter how mad he was. He was so accustomed to seeing her random pieces of clothing hanging in his closet right next to his polo shirts, and her tooth brush right next to his every morning. Caylee had pulled so many overnighters with Stephen that his father didn't even ask why she was there anymore, he asked about her only when she wasn't there. But before he had a chance to reply to her, she took off running toward his room.
He decided that she'd probably go straight to his closet to make sure her stuff was still there, and then she'd relax a bit. He went into the kitchen, and pulled out the container of Ben & Jerry's vanilla ice cream, her favorite. He pulled a spoon out of the dishwasher and then went down to his room, setting the ice cream down on his nightstand before following her directions and plopping down on the bed, completely silent the whole time. Stephen wasn't really concerned when she closed the door, concerned about distractions, until she turned off her phone. Caylee never turned her phone off unless something huge was happening. "Okay..."
His blue eyes widened slightly, and he was obviously concerned. He crossed his legs and turned off his Black Berry before turning her gaze back to him and then getting up. He felt cold, the air conditioning in his house blasting. He grabbed a Florida State hoodie from the ground and pulled it over his head and then sat back down. "You've got my full attention."

She watched him come inside and take a seat beside her. There was a smile in her face when she saw him turned off his phone. Once again she clutched her arms around his waist. Cay was breathing deeply now. That’s the sign that she’s nervous. It doesn’t happen often and it usually happens in front of Stephen. She looked at his pretty blue eyes. Those eyes that she missed a lot. His cheeks that she loved pinching teasingly.
”Honey...” she started her voice softly trembling. ”The day I left, which was indeed a terrible mistake...” she breathe deeply again. ”I was hoping to get my parents back together..” tears now slowly flowing in her eyes. ”When dad said he wanted to get mom back I hurriedly flew to New York to convince her to come back, but what I saw is something more terrible that their divorce.” she closed her eyes in remembering the memory. ”I went straight to her office when I called her maid and said she wasn’t there. My mom..” she tried to get hold of herself. ”s-she’s having an affair. But I wished it was something normal, b-but she’s having an a-affair with..” she gulped and slightly wiped the tears off her eyes. ”w-with her business partner, Margaux. A girl! My mom left my dad for a lesbian! That the shitty thing ever! And worst, my nanny, Dorota, she send me a picture of my dad i-in the library, with an interior designer, who’s just a year older than me!” she burst into tears. Cay can’t see his reaction. She wasn’t sure if he’s mad or something.
”You have no idea Steph. I wanted to call you, to get me back here in Florida. But my m-mom, she cut off any means of communication so I won’t be able to contact my dad when I discovered her love affair!” she wiped the tears off again. She hasn’t cried like that for a long time. Cay really felt terrible with what’s happening to her life. ”But the Margaux convinced my mom that I shouldn’t be locked out like that, so when she decided I can finally go back here, the one week of no communication was my fault, I wanted to give you a surprise. So honey..sorry about that but mine’s just one week. The rest is my mom’s fault.” she hugged him tightly now. Waiting for him to say anything. "You're the only one I have left that's true and honest and the only one I could trust..."

Stephen looked at her, watching her face with a worried expression. He'd rarely seen Cay so upset by anything, and he didn't like it. He stared at her, wondering what was going on as she started to talk, her breathing deep, a nervous habit she'd had since she was in seventh grade. He sat in silence, his expression turning from worry to a more horrified expression as her story went on. The only thing so far that really bothered him was the fact that her parents were getting a divorce. But Caylee seemed to be completely horrified that her mother was going gay and her dad was getting into, well, jail bait. But rather than try to convince her that it really could be worse, he just played along and looked horrified along with her.
His mind was drifting, and the only thing that was keeping him in the moment was Caylee's steadily increasing level of hysteria. As she got to the communication part, Stephen automatically felt guilty for being an ass about it. He pulled her in, giving her a hug and playing with her hair as he held her. His fingers ran through it as he stroked her hair in an attempt to comfort her, but he had a feeling it wasn't going to work. "Don't worry about it, baby, it'll all be okay," he said as he started to gently rock them, his own eyes closing with the relaxing rhythm of the movement. He was just glad that she was back and okay. "You can always trust me. Never forget that," he said, completely meaning every word in a way he'd never spoken to Cay before.

Cay felt the relief and comfort that she was looking for over the past months. Like it had been before, Cay found the love and care with Stephen. That brought the memory when she was seven where her mom used to yell at her over little things, Cay would run into Stephen’s room and wait for him there if he’s not and then they’ll eat ice cream together. She knows that the world may turn its back on her but not him, not Stephen, her best friend, her only love. Now that things have been way out of hand, Caylee had no one else but Stephen, at least Steph was like a family. Their parents even thought that they would look together as couples which were not hard for them since they’ve been inseparable. She felt better knowing that he’ll be there for her especially that now she’s going through a rough time.
Cay wiped off the tears in her eyes and looked at him. She wanted to look at his face and looked at them like she had been gone for ten years. She felt a deep longing for him. Cay dreamed of him every night which was a consolation on her end as it is the only time that she can see him though when she wakes up and he wasn’t there; it’s the most painful thing for her. She hugged him back and laid her head on his chest. ”I missed this baby. But... there’s another thing I really missed.” She looked at him again ran her finger on his forehead, then to his nose and then his lips. She caressed his soft lips. The first lips she kissed, the only lips that sincerely says how much he loves her. She moved her face close to him and kissed his lips softly then played his nose with her own nose as well. "I missed you so much baby. Don’t you miss me?”

Stephen searched her pretty face for some sign of relief. After a few moments he discovered it and sighed. He just wanted her to smile again, it'd been awhile since he saw it. As she wiped her tears away, he noticed the makeup streak that it left and chuckled. He loved how she could look like a complete and total disaster and still be beautiful. It never failed to amaze him. But then he was pretty easily amazed anyway. He watched her, his eyes taking everything around him in. He missed moments like this, where it was just him and his closest friend sitting in his room, not caring about what was happening in the world just outside those four walls.
As her fingers traced his facial features, Stephen's breathing increased it's speed slightly and his eyes widened excitedly. He knew what was coming next, and he knew that Cay was doing this to him on purpose. She knew what made him tick, and that drove him nearly insane. Cay knew him way too well for his own good. Then she kissed him for the first time in what felt like forever. As she spoke, he just stared at her lips, his heart telling him to kiss her again but his mind telling him to deny her again. The poor boy couldn't decide what to do, so he simply nodded his agreement, and then kissed her again, his lips hitting hers softly as his right hand moved to the nape of her neck.

Cay had always known his weakness and it's a good thing now that all she wants is to have her back for good. After she left and during the times when she was in New York, Caylee had seen what a disaster she is without Stephen. Not that she's used of him being near but what she realized is how much she love him. And the moment she was permitted to go back to Florida, it has been Cay's decision to stop fooling around and take everything seriously, more seriously with Stephen. She was glad to know it seems like not too late to get him back so they could continue what they had left.
She felt him respond and that was a good sign. It was a man's instict to be tempted but she had known Stephen and she knows that he doesn't take sex like a game even if he was player. Stephen took it seriously and she knows it since it took them years before they had done their first time. She let go of any bad emotions and concentrated only to him. Cay moved her hands to his neck as well as they kissed. Slowly, she took her coat off while she moved her hand in his chest, which is for Cay the sexiest part of his body. "You have no diea how much I missed you..." she said as she went back kissing him again.

Stephen opened an eye as he felt her move. Off went the jacket. His other eye opened and he smiled as their lips moved together. Everything was right with the world, atleast at that moment in time. He pulled away and looked at her, feeling a tug of longing as he did. "I missed you too... But I can't do this now," he said, averting his eyes. It killed him to say it, but he couldn't quite let her back into his life as a girlfriend. Yet. He still planned on testing her a bit more, he needed to know that she was as serious about him as she'd seemed. So he'd watch her for the next few weeks or so and work from there.
He may have seemed crazy, but he ment well. He just didn't want to get screwed over. Who knew what Cay would do if she was presented with a good enough temptation? Would she even consider ditching Stephen for the next best thing? Even though Caylee had been his best friend for as long as he could remember, she was still unpredictable most of the time, and that bothered him. Some how she could get into his head so easily but he could never do it to her. It made him insane.

Caylee sighed and felt her cheeks went pink with embarrassment. Who would have thought Stephen could completely fight back like that ash if he doesn’t know her. She put on her coat again still not looking at him. She felt stupid for pushing herself so hard, now that she’s learned how much Stephen meant to her. Maybe she has been a real bitch to him and took him for granted in some ways that made him resist her like that.
But since she’s serious in getting him back, she won’t give up easily. She’ll prove to him that now, she’s serious and is willing to wait for him. Caylee just hoped it won’t be that long. ”Is...there someone else? Don’t you love me anymore? Is it that easy for you to just forget me? Ditch me? Will I lose you too the same as I have lost my other loved ones?” she asked him now sitting at the edge of the bed few inches away from him and looking dow at her hand laid on her lap.
