rory had finished a rather hectic school day, only to hurry home. normally she'd be out doing something, but she was tired, more like exhausted. she was lucky enough to not have any homework assignments, but she wasn't about to go out with friends tonight. she needed sleep, well rest at least. as soon as she had arrived home, she slipped into her silk nightgown and thrown on her robe and went straight to lay on her bed.
she sprawled out upon her comforter, laying on her back, with her feet on her pillows and her head near the foot of the bed. in her hands she had the newest vogue magazine which she really wasn't that focused on as she vaguely read the articles. her mind was elsewhere, but at least she was awake. if it wouldn't screw up her sleep schedule she would have already passed out on her bed, plus she wanted to wait for ally to get home anyways. she knew that if she fell asleep ally would come home and wake her anyways. and there was nothing worse than falling asleep only to be woken before you were ready. it was much easier just to stay awake until it was time to sleep.
she looked away from her magazine as she heard the door open. it had to be ally. mum was in paris or rome? or who knows where. victoria had the day off, and "doc golightly" was off on his own business trip. it was just her and ally inhabiting the house, plus cat, sabrina and eliza. cat, whom was laying on rory's feet walked towards rory's head, meowing to let her know of someone entering. rory chuckled and stroked the orange cat, glancing towards the door. "hey ally.."she called into the other room, waiting for a response.

ally walked swiftly down the sunny street that led to her house. she had been down by the beach with a few friends for a few minutes after school had let out and being the forgetful person she was hadn't called to tell her sister yet. seeing her phone was on the near verge of dying, she made her way home so that Rory wouldn't totally freak out and assume the worst of where she was, as she often did on occasion. to ally, it seemed as if Rory was being a tad over protective at best, but she normally learned to put it behind her. with her blond curls bouncing in the slight breeze, ally trotted on home and soon enough she was there. dropping off her purse and bookbag in the hall like the lazy bum she was, ally scampered off to her room and dove onto her bed.
she figured rory was home somewhere in the nice-sized house. ally tilted her ear toward the door to her room and only heard the quiet. the only thing about having wealthy parents was the total jet-setting they did. once in awhile it'd be nice to come home to a full house, but ally wasn't to complain. she liked her lifestyle. it might just be nice to have someone around every once in awhile. grabbing her laptop from the foot of the bed, she sat it in her lap and began randomly searching for some fashion internships in the area. nothing appeared to be to promising on the first page so she clicked on the next. ah yes, fashion and designing was something ally adored. her dream one day was to become a world renound fashion mogul, and all moguls started off with an internship.
suddenly ally her heard name being called which caused her to jump slightly. she closed her laptop, rolled off the bed, and walked into her sister's room. "you called, ror?" asked ally with a grin on her face. as much as rory could be overprotective, she still loved her sister with all her heart. in a split second impulse, ally jumped onto rory's bed, causing cat to freak out slightly and move back a little. she giggled furiously. "i guess maybe i should be a bit more careful next time, huh?" she said trying to fight a smile as she composed her giggles. pushing a few locks of her curly blond hair away, she settled her blue eyes on rory, who was looking overwhemingly sleepy at the moment.
